Job Overview
CRDB Bank is hiring a seasoned Senior Specialist – Card Systems to provide strategic leadership and hands-on technical expertise in managing its card technology infrastructure. This role ensures the effective performance, security, and scalability of card-related systems such as ATM/POS switch platforms, card production systems, and databases for debit, credit, and prepaid cards.
This opportunity is ideal for an ICT professional with a strong background in banking technology, digital payment infrastructure, and real-time transaction processing.
Key Responsibilities
1. Systems Administration and Oversight

Administer, configure, and maintain ATM/POS switch systems and Card Management Systems (CMS).

Ensure high availability, reliability, and security of all card-based transaction systems.

Perform health checks, logs review, and real-time monitoring to detect and prevent system downtime.
2. Integration and Vendor Management
-
Manage integrations between CRDB’s card platforms and domestic, regional, and international payment schemes (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay, CUP).

Liaise with external vendors and card production partners to resolve second-level support issues.

Supervise testing and certification of switches, ATMs, POS devices, and international scheme compliance.
3. Support and Enhancements

Provide second-level support for all card systems and related e-transaction platforms.

Collaborate with internal units including Alternative Banking Channels, e-Fraud, and Operations to maintain service continuity and security.

Implement changes and enhancements based on business requirements and user feedback.
4. Strategic and Operational Leadership

Monitor the performance of the entire card systems portfolio, including project progress and future roadmap.

Participate in design and rollout of new card products and services in alignment with business goals.

Ensure risk mitigation, compliance, and secure transaction processing across all platforms.
5. Reporting and Performance Monitoring

Generate analytical reports to support business intelligence and channel performance reviews.

Share insights and recommendations to improve user experience, system uptime, and fraud prevention.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Academic Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
Professional Experience
-
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Card Systems administration and support within a banking environment.

Proven experience working with:

ATM/POS Switch systems

Card Management Systems (CMS)

Database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server)

Operating systems: Linux, Unix, and Windows environments

Technical and Soft Skills

In-depth understanding of electronic transaction workflows and card issuance processes.

Familiarity with fraud monitoring tools, e-channels, and integration APIs.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot high-priority system issues.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration across departments and with vendors.
