Overview

The IRC is seeking a Data Analysis Intern to support data visualization and compliance documentation across humanitarian programs. This is an in-person internship, offering hands-on experience with tools like Power BI and Microsoft Excel, alongside real-world exposure to international humanitarian operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, consolidate, and organize data from multiple sources (e.g., internal databases, Excel, program reports).

  • Design and maintain dashboards using Power BI to support internal decision-making.

  • Perform data cleaning and transformation to ensure accuracy and consistency.

  • Review grant agreements and partnership documents for compliance with IRC and donor policies.

  • Identify inconsistencies or data/documentation gaps and report findings.

  • Contribute to standardizing data management and reporting processes.

  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate on ongoing projects.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Educational Background

    • Current student or recent graduate in:

      • Data Science

      • Statistics

      • Economics

      • International Development

      • Or a closely related field

  2. Technical Skills

    • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

    • Strong working knowledge of Power BI

    • Comfortable working with large data sets and multiple data sources

  3. Personal Competencies

    • Detail-oriented and highly organized

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality

    • Interest in humanitarian work and IRC’s mission

  4. Preferred Experience

    • Familiarity with compliance or grant management

    • Experience working independently and in hybrid/remote environments
