Position Overview

The Fleet Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Alistair Group’s large truck fleet. This includes supervising planning teams, monitoring vehicle performance, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining legal compliance across transport operations.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Management

  • Ensure transparent and consistent communication with clients.

  • Handle customer complaints promptly and professionally.

  • Collaborate with planners and client liaison teams to manage expectations effectively.

Fleet and Staff Supervision

  • Supervise Project Controllers in:

    • Journey management and trip finances.

    • Fuel allocations and driver incentives.

    • Compliance with trip briefings and debriefings.

  • Review performance indicators and disciplinary issues of drivers.

  • Monitor driver handovers and performance documentation.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure immediate response and detailed investigations for accidents or faults.

  • Uphold journey management protocols and reduce avoidable delays.

  • Maintain accurate records through SAP and TMS systems.

  • Verify that all trips meet documentation and invoicing requirements.

Team Leadership

  • Act as the Line Manager for assigned Project Controllers and administrative team.

  • Deliver performance reviews and KPI assessments.

  • Assist in client acquisition efforts by supporting planners and account managers.

Qualifications and Skills

Education:

  • A university degree in Logistics, Transport, or a relevant discipline.

  • Additional certifications in Lean Six Sigma, Project Management, Business Management, or Safety Management are desirable.
